DFOS Solutions

Driven by a strong professional knowledge background and rich practical applications, our unique solutions can provide accurate temperature, strain, and acoustic measurements to help our clients achieve their target in a reliable and cost-effective way.

Distributed fiber optic sensing technology utilizes the optical properties of fiber optic transmission and sensing, without the need for complex downhole instruments. By measuring backscattered light (similar to radar echo technology), temperature, sound waves, and strain data of the path of the fiber, we can achieve full-time monitoring oil and gas well production profile, reservior stimulation optimization, pipeline security and downhole integrity for CCUS. Fiber optic sensing technology is the most advanced and disruptive technology in the oil and gas industry in recent decades, especially effective in solving problems such as production profile, liquid injection, gas injection profiles in oil and gas fields, fracturing and stimulation processes, the direction and amount of liquids and proppants entering during hydraulic fracturing, wellbore integrity, and downhole equipment status.

Digital Reservoir

The permanent fiber optic sensing can monitor various parameters of the reservoir in real time, providing developers with a clearer understanding of the reservoir, formulating more reasonable development plan, and improving reservoir recovery rate with real-time data support.

Solve the problems of gas production, liquid production, gas injection, and liquid injection profiles in oil and gas fields. At present, in the production and development process of oil and gas fields, there are more and more horizontal wells, and the horizontal heterogeneity makes the monitoring of the production profile of horizontal oil and gas wells increasingly important. Fiber optic logging technology can monitor the production and supply rate of each perforation cluster in real-time underground, providing real underground production conditions. Especially for traditional production logging, the monitoring advantages of production profiles in horizontal wells are more prominent, providing accurate data for oil and gas fields to understand production laws and decision-making basis for development plans.

Incomparable Advantages

Compared with traditional electrical sensing, optic sensing has the following incomparable advantages:

Robust Systems

No electronic components, high temperature and high pressure resistance, high system lifespan and reliability under harsh underground conditions.

EMI Immunity

Optic components are inherently immune to electromagnetic interference.

Dense Sensing

Distributed sensing has a high sensing density, and optical fibers themselves are thousands of sensors.

Optic Benefits

A single optic cable can achieve multiple parameter measurements throughout the entire lifecycle of the wellbore, with high comprehensive benefits.

Monitor the integrity of the wellbore without blind spots. At present, there are some legacy wells in major oil and gas fields, and the integrity of the wellbore is blurry, especially the problems of casing leakage/channeling, formation water/sand production, which cannot be accurately judged. Fiber optic logging technology is precisely the best way to solve this problem, as simply running a single fiber into the well can solve a series of problems.

Monitor the working status of underground lifting equipment and timely predict or detect faults in the lifting equipment. Artificial lifting equipment is the main source of production power for most oil and gas wells, and unplanned shutdowns inevitably lead to well shutdowns and disrupt production plans. Permanent fiber optic technology utilizes DAS signals to detect vibrations and detect faults in lifting equipment in a timely manner to prevent downtime. This enables operators to seek more reasonable production systems, make sufficient maintenance plans and preparations, and shift well repair operations from passive to active, saving scheduling resources and greatly reducing the impact of maintenance operations on production.

Permanent fiber optic can be used with DAS to achieve vertical seismic profile analysis (VSP). Fiber optic has a higher signal-to-noise ratio, which can achieve the acquisition accuracy of seismic detectors. The entire length is equivalent to countless detectors, and it is resistant to high temperature and high pressure. Without the need for vertical movement, it is possible to collect data from high-temperature and high-pressure reservoirs that cannot be detected by seismic detectors, without interfering with oil and gas production. Fine characterization of reservoir structure can be carried out at any time.

Pipeline Safety

The pipeline safety solution of Vision Energy utilizes a distributed fiber optic sensing system to continuously monitor, locate, and depict subtle temperature, strain, and vibration changes throughout the entire monitoring range of the sensing fiber.

Vision Energy’s pipeline security solution possesses a large amount of monitoring data in real – time and extracts actionable information needed to protect your pipeline via big data and random forest algorithm. The system issues warnings against pipeline threats and continuously monitors and protects pipeline assets 24 hours a day. Enable you to make quick and wise decisions with confidence to intervene and prevent theft, prevent accidents, save money, reduce environmental impact, and maintain the company’s reputation.

Mine Safety

Vision Energy utilizes advanced distributed fiber optic sensing technology, fiber optic communication technology, and computer network technology to achieve networked management of the entire monitoring information. The DAS system can monitor small displacement and stress changes inside the dam in real time, and the DTS system can determine whether there are slight invisible leaks based on the temperature distribution changes inside the dam. This system has the characteristics of high monitoring accuracy, strong stability, minimal climate impact, good corrosion resistance, and lightning protection.
